As the winner of the 1968 Olympic Design Competition in Mexico, the Alberca Olimpica swimming pool structure houses four types of Olympic regulation pools and has a seating capacity for 10,000 people. The 869,000 sq. ft. steel and concrete structure also contains an adjoining volleyball gymnasium and is equipped with a full range of support facilities.
