Museum of Latin American Art
The old wood floors, the different types of structures, and three different lots, all blended into one building, the MOLAA museum in Long Beach, California. The program, the main entrance, lobby, bookstore, offices, small library, restrooms, etc., on the main avenue Alamitos St. Ample galleries about 10,000 to 12,000 square feet, a spacious multiple use building around 5,000 sq. feet at the far end of the project, with an additional entrance on 7th St which used to be the Balboa Studio Set. A very ample open space to be called The Patio, both these serviced by a formal kitchen, The patio for outdoor events, music, dance theater, movies. Total area should be around 50,000 sq. feet. A museum no longer to come in silently, quiet, that is a memory of the past, but to listen to the sound of the users. Today it is a place to get together, enjoy the enviroment and the people, and to be able to have food with friends and enjoy the event. At present under construction, but the galleries and Balboa is in complete activity.
